Tacey is exactly one of those people. Her mind is always off on some tangent, getting lost in a sea of unanswered questions and illusions. Unfortunately this is can be construed as laziness as she tends to feign from doing work to instead ponder life's most thrilling questions. Much to her professor's dismay, Tacey rarely touches her homework; though when she is not lost in another one of her daydreams she monopolizes conversations and answers most questions in class and seems to pull perfect test scores out of no where. Though her attention span is usually long, she can be very easily distracted by her own abstract thoughts. If one thing about Tacey is true, it is that she is always thinking - normally about something worth while. She garners odd looks as she wanders the halls muttering quietly to herself, though she does contest she isn't actually talking to herself. Talking to oneself implies that part of you is listening as if on the unfortunate side of a one-sided conversation. She on the other hand merely expresses her thoughts verbally; they get much too clustered in her head. With all of her day dreaming, Tacey loves to draw. She has a certain knack for it, but namely doodles in the margins of her books during boring classes. Her mind wanders too much to even stop and do one of her favorite activities. Despite her dreamy nature, Tacey gives normally undivided attention to the people around her. Her heart bleeds with love for everyone, and she opens her arms to all. Hugs anyone?! Tacey loves intensely and hates with passion; there are only extremes for this Cancer. She tends to mother her group of friends, selflessly tending to their needs whenever she can. However, she is no doormat and can recognize when she is being used; unfortunately she usually continues to help regardless and builds up resentment until she boils over. Tacey adores having fun and she really does try to put herself into situations where she can have the most possible. She is a flirt, even more than most, as it comes naturally and she does it without even thinking. Outside of flirting, she loves to laugh though she has a bit of a dry sense of humor and is generally not all that funny of a person. At least, not on purpose. Her lack of grace always makes her the butt of jokes, but a laugh is a laugh, right? Truly a nymph, Tacey worships nature. Though she is not naturally good at growing things, she does have a bit of a way with animals and getting her to come inside on a summer night is a job for only the most persuasive of souls. At the beginning of her sixth year, Tacey got a kitten to fill the void of animals when it is too cold to visit the creature pens. Also, it was a nice surprise, owning a creature who didn't viciously attack you every so often. Esmerelda had thus far been perhaps the best cat she knew of. Even with her amiable traits, Tacey has decidedly undesirable characteristics as well. Not only is she excruciating critical of others and herself, she is extremely blunt in her honesty. If a question is asked, an answer will be given often without the slightest hesitation. Though never belligerent, many of her honest answers come at the expense of other's feelings. Naturally once she sees she's injured someone she tries her best to cover and manipulate what she said into something less hurtful, but usually the damage is done. Also, despite all of her enthusiasm, Tacey has a brooding streak, thanks again to her vast imagination and over-analyzing. She can't help but mope around when people aren't giving her attention and when left to her own devices she rarely does anything but lay about and brood endlessly. Endlessly, that is, until someone comes to sweep her off her feet and give her something to do. Company is her savior. sexuality: pb|images: [Name & at least two links to high quality images of your PB.] physical description: [2+ detailed paragraphs, and include style and other aspects of appearance.] history: Something happened to Henretta Rivers; after nearly thirty years of stiff feminism, a man swept her so cleanly off her feet she completely forgot her stand against children (citing them as a mans' final but closing argument that men are still needed on the earth). Within months of meeting Andrew Kirke she was pregnant and not long after they had a baby whom they affectionately named Evelin Tacey Kirke. Perhaps not the most flowing of names, but Henretta had hardly forgotten her feminist roots and decided to allow her daughter to be given a wide variety of names by which to be called. She could go for the ancient-sounding Evelin, or a shorter cuter version, Eve. Tacey was hip and interesting, as was the shortened version Tace. Kirk was an interesting name if she could convinced her friends to call her by her last name, and if everything else was displeasing, she could claim her name was Rivers. Unfortunately, Henretta had never been more wrong about a man in her entire life. Andrew Kirke was no knight in shining armor. He was no gentlemen. He was a swindling fiend with a gentle smile who managed to steal a majority of Henretta's savings before up and deserting the family. Henretta had her daughter's surname changed to quickly to Rivers the little girl never knew what her original name had been and Tacey has been branded Evelin Tacey Rivers ever since. Somehow never much minding not having a father, Tacey grew up learning that boys were lesser, disgusting beings not suitable for friend and that women needed to take action against. Well perhaps she was never told these things directly, but Tacey's ears acted like sponges, soaking up whatever things her mother said whenever she was in earshot. As a result, many of her young male companions found themselves getting tossed into rivers, pushed into the mud, or having their sand castles kicked over. And nothing got better as she got older, either. The older she grew, the more sneaky she became about undermining boys, tricking them and allowing themselves to make fools of themselves rather than doing all the leg work. Perhaps it's true that Tacey never used her intelligence for good. Perhaps. With spurts of magic happening here and there (usually negatively affecting some unwitting boy), it was no surprise when Tacey recieved her invitation to Hogwarts on her 11th birthday. She could not have been more thrilled! New experiences, new friends, new unsuspecting boys to taunt were all just on the horizon and she could barely wait the remaining months until school started. Unfortunately, things did not go quite as she had hoped. Parting from her mother was more troublesome than she had imagined it would be, and her ride on the train was in relative silence, the only noise around her being the other students. Apparently she had found the compartment full of odd misfits who decided not to interact, and she obliged happily. It was grueling, waiting for everyone else in her year to be sorted. Her name was very near the end of the list and she just wanted to be sorted! Would she be put into same house as her mother? Those Gryffindors seemed so dreadfully...well obnoxious. Need they hoop and holler at every little first year joining their house. Really that must of been daunting, having to live up to the cheers. However, the hat no sooner touched her head than it spit out Ravenclaw. Somewhat pleased, Tacey made her way to the table and her fate was sealed. The students at Hogwarts were not like any of the kids she had ever met; granted they weren't muggles but Tacey had never made the connection. All of her manipulation and trouble stopped (unless you counted the detention after detention she got for repetitively forgetting her homework) and one after another she befriended boys. Upon arriving home for Christmas and reciting all of her interesting stories to her mother, she found her adventures to not be well received. Very suddenly boys were off limits and she was told not to associate with them and god forbid she find her self fancying one! Well. That was all it took and Tacey became boy crazy. Of course no one knew (she had friend after friend but wasn't particularly close with anyone; she had her daydreams to keep her company then) but she knew and every boy who walked by her came under great scrutiny. Was he cute? Could he make a good boyfriend? Were his fingers too knuckle-y to hold hands with? Those were the questions. Five years later and few things changed; she is still boy-crazed. The only difference is that now boys return her flirtations and again she took up the taunting of them. Of course, this time it is called "playing hard to get", rather than simply being the school yard bully. Deciding that it would be best to take only the classes she could effortlessly pass her NEWTs in, Tacey dropped all the classes in which she scored anything less than an O on her OWLs, though she would have liked to take astronomy again. Unfortunately on the day of her test she came late and promptly informed the teacher that what she knew about astronomy couldn't fit in the palm of her hand. Shame to have gotten a troll really, but "thems the breaks", as she carelessly informed her mother. s a m p l e s first person journal entry: [We realise not every character would write a novel, so just let them be themselves] third person rp sample: [Clear, concise, detailed.
